Coefficient of Friction

The actual fiction created depends on
- shaft or mating material surface finish
- specific load
- sliding or rotational speed
- operating temperature

A low coefficient of fiction is achieved when the load is high and the velocity is low (table). In temperatures of up to approximately 100 degrees C, the coefficient decreases slightly. If the temperature is higher than 100 degrees C, the coefficient can exceed these values by up to 50 %, with the movement occuring without stick-slip.
