Accurate alignment is
essential for all radial and axial bearings. This is particularly crucial for
dry bearings which do not include a lubricant film to assist in dissipating the
loads. With Getro bearings, the maximum permissible misalignment across the
entire width of the bush is 0.02 mm. This also applies to bushes fitted as pairs
and to stop collars. Where bushes are arranged one behind the other, we recommend
using bushes with identical widths. In such cases, ensure that the butt joints
are aligned. Excessive loads on the edges must be prevented by appropriate
design and construction methods: chamfers, larger bore diameters around the rim
or bushes which extend beyond the rim of the bore hole are some methods that can
be employed to minimise such peak loads. |
