	During the run-in period, the PTFE layer of the bearing will conform to the uneven surfaces of the shaft. Thus only a break-in surface is created with a low coefficient of friction and minimal wear. The wear depth increases insignificantly after the run-in period. When a liquid is used in conjunction with this type of bearing, a hydrodynamic film may develop and wear of the bearing is minimized. this type bearing should be kept free of any solid contaminant.
