Proper alignment of all plain and thrust bearings is exential. This is particularly true for non-lubricated bearings, where no lubrication film is available. For GETRO
type bearings, the alignment error for the complete length of the bushing should not exceed more than 0.02mm. This is also true for bushings that are used in
pairs and at seal surfaces. If a pair of bushings is mounted immediately adjacent, we recommend the use of bushings of the same width. (The gaps at the
joint should align?) Excessive edge loading should be prevented by applying proper mounting / installation methods to ensure proper alignment. Chamfers
on housing diameters and on bushings should be performed carefully in order to prevent raised material that may prevent proper alignment, edge loading
and/or improper fit conditions. |
