	The sliding material PTFE is almost completely resistant to chemicals. Melted alkali metals and fluorinated base materials in high temperatures are the only exception. In most cases the electro tinning (2µm thick) of the base material will prevent corrosion. If the bearings are exposed to media, which are especially susceptible to corrosion, electroplating with corrosion resistant coating is necessary. Alternatively dry plain bearings with bronze pieces can be used.
